This was a little thing I worked on on our last Draft & Craft for the season. So sad. This is a really great group of people and I have enjoyed the last eight months writing with them.
When I Was Fifty
When I was fifty….I wanted to look like I did when I was thirty
When I was fifty….I looked exactly like I did when I was forty-nine
When I was fifty….I donated my hair to Locks for Love
When I was fifty….I was glad I saw no grey hair
When I was fifty….I had my first MRI scan
When I was fifty….I could barely walk
When I was fifty….I walked a half marathon with my daughter
When I was fifty….I was feeling great and in shape
When I was fifty….I started saying fuck a lot….ok more than what I said it before
When I was fifty….I didn’t give a fuck anymore
When I was fifty…. My memory started to fade
When I was fifty….I was reminded we walked the half marathon when I was forty-nine
When I was fifty…I started to wear strange clothes
When I was fifty…I became “that lady”
When I was fifty….I grew fearless
When I was fifty…..fifty-one doesn’t seem so bad
That was really cute!!! Will you make another one every year to reflect back, and then compare then as time goes by?

Your voice is honest enough here for anyone near fifty or more to relate to. 👍

LOL, I love it!!! Only you could write this Chris, I admit it took me until 60 to start thinking this way for a few of them. Great piece of writing!!
